Welcome!

Welcome to the Front Mission: Series Translation Project blog! In this blog, we’ll be talking about anything and everything related to Front Mission. Video games, merchandise, fan translations, and whatever floats the boat as they say! There’s tons of Front Mission info that remains Japan-only and our job is to educate as many people everywhere else about this under-appreciated and largely forgotten diamond in the rough. And with Front Mission back in the spotlight through Front Mission Evolved, our teammates felt now would be a good time to connect with anyone who wanted to get into the franchise.

Feel free to talk about anything Front Mission in here, and enjoy learning more about the franchise! Don’t forget to spread the word to other people and donate to keep the project going!

Finally! About time you folks set up some place where the fans can actually comment on your works! I don’t know what else to say, but this is a great new move and I hope you can get more fans to comment on your new blog. Hopefully us fans can see a forum one of these days too. 🙂

Looking forward to this.

What has always struck me about the FM series is that it has a history it takes very seriously. It’s surprisingly internally consistent, which is more than you can say for most sci-fi. Even Gundam, which has quite a massive background to draw upon, is filled with retcons and heavy technological inconsistencies that frequently go unexplained. It will be interesting to see just how deep this particular rabbit hole goes.

I have been looking for a place to help me deal with the frustration of changing the game for “Evolve”. Not here to complain, but looking to get my fix for “Front Mission”. I really enjoy the slow pace and graphic representations of battle, and since FM 4, I was looking forward to the next gen consoles to display that with even more detail…and then I learned that it would not be. But I still enjoy going back and playing my copies of FM 3 and 4, and hadn’t attempted to get any imports…but if you guys are making it easier to play, then I’m all for it.
